Wellesley sues in Superior Court over 40 Oakland Street housing plan
WELLESLEY — The Select Board on Tuesday filed a complaint in Norfolk County Superior Court challenging a proposal to develop 40 Oakland Street under the state's Affordable Homes Act, opening a new legal front in a fight over how the town's land can be used for affordable housing.
TOWN HALL
The Select Board and the Town of Wellesley filed the complaint Tuesday afternoon, according to a notice posted to the town's News Flash. The action targets a proposed development at 40 Oakland Street advanced under the Affordable Homes Act (AHA), the state law that gives developers new tools to build affordable housing. The town's posting frames the filing as the board's formal response to the proposal; further detail on the relief sought was not included in the public alert.
Town Hall also confirmed Wellesley's annual Flag Day observance will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Woodlawn Cemetery. The ceremony is open to the public.
