Wellesley Board of Health re-elects Simonson, Oliver Grape to lead three-member panel

WELLESLEY — March 26, 2026 — Wellesley Board of Health seats Susie Eklund and keeps Simonson in the chair. The three-member board voted 3-0 to retain Marcia Testa Simonson as chair and Linda Oliver Grape as vice chair after introducing Eklund, whose term runs to 2029. Health Director Lenny Izzo reported all restaurant inspections current, a new outdoor pool complex at Longfellow Wellesley, and AEDs "almost ready to be installed" at Hunnewell and Sprague fields under Fire Department maintenance. Community Health Coordinator Jhana Wallace outlined next steps for Opioid Fund spending and National Public Health Week, while Nursing Supervisor Ashley Denton said Alpha-gal syndrome is now a state-reportable disease. The board also approved its Feb. 26 minutes 3-0.
