Hills Branch library closes June 1 for months-long renovation
WELLESLEY — The Hills Branch of the Wellesley Free Library will shut its doors Monday for a renovation project expected to last into the fall, while Town Hall is racing the calendar on two short-window openings: an interim seat on the Board of Public Works and an affordable home ownership slot on Hollis Street.
TOWN HALL The Board of Public Works is looking for an interim member to fill a vacancy through March 2027, the town announced Thursday. The BPW is encouraging applicants with backgrounds in finance, sustainability, or infrastructure to send materials by June 5. Details are posted on the town's News Flash page.
Town Hall also reissued the application link for an affordable home ownership opportunity at 12 Hollis Street after an earlier notice carried a broken URL. Applications are open now, with a June 8 deadline. The corrected listing is on the town's news page.
COMMUNITY & ARTS The Hills Branch Library will close beginning Monday, June 1, for a renovation project, with a planned reopening in fall 2026, according to a notice posted on the Wellesley Free Library homepage. Main library and Fells Branch services continue uninterrupted during the closure. The library is also promoting a "Grand Opening of the Terrace" feature and a "50 Hikes Through History" program through its quick-links carousel.
